About me

My interest in science was sparked in 2012, when I earned my BS degree in Geology from Union College in Schenectady, NY, and had the opportunity to conduct primary research in stable isotope geochemistry as an undergraduate. After graduation, I had the opportunity to continue to pursue my interests in paleoclimate proxy development at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX, while working toward my Master’s degree. In 2015, I went to UNC-Chapel Hill to earn my Ph.D. in Geological Sciences in stable isotope geochemistry and paleoclimatology. I worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at UNC Chapel Hill after graduation, then taught a variety of introductory classes at UNC Chapel Hill and Elon University as temporary faculty. I started as a Visiting Assistant Professor in Earth & Ocean Sciences at UNC Wilmington in 2021 and have officially been hired as a Lecturer effective 2023.

When I’m not working, I usually hang out with my crazy family. I have a toddler, a mini-schnauzer, and a baby on the way!
